Problems related to ages are usualky head-banging for the students and also consumes a lot of time without the surety of right answer. So here is a shortcut to verify your answer for these type of problems.
Question:- At present the ratio of the ages of Anu and Manu is 4:7 respectively. 6 years hence it will be 7: 10 respectively. Find out the present age of manu?
Let the age be x
Shortcut Formula:
X = New ratio difference x
Added or Subtracted number
The difference between old and new ratio's cross multiplication
New ratio difference is 3
Added number is 6 (years)
Cross multiplication difference is : 49-40 = 9
X = 3×6 = 2
9
Answer is :- 2

Step 1: multiply and add:
5×5+4, 4×4
Step 2: you will get : 29, 16
Answer is 2916
In same way find out the square of 56,
56×56:
Step 1: 5×5+6, 6×6
Step 2: you will get: 31, 36
Answer is 3136.
Keep in mind
This trick can only be used to calculate the square from 51 to 59.
